The Beatles Were An English Rock Band Who Formed - 2344 Words

The Beatles were an English rock band who formed in Liverpool. The band formed in 1960 and consisted of four members. The four band members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The Beatles built up their reputation by playing in pubs and clubs that were located throughout Hamburg and Liverpool, they did this for around 3 years until they became well known worldwide. Background: Brian Epstein who died in 1967 at age 32 managed The Beatles . Brian managed The Beatles for 6 years and led them to their fame. He first discovered the band in November of 1961 during a performance and was instantly impressed by their talent and knew they had a lot of potential. John Lennon was one of the four band members in The Beatles who was born on the 9th of October in England and was murdered by a shooting on the 8th of December 1980. It was john’s mother who started him off with music teaching him to play the banjo, piano and purchasing his first guitar for him. John was married twice, in 1962 he married his first wife Cynthia Powell and had a son named Julian, it was in 1968 that the two got divorced. John married his second wife Yoko Ono in 1969. In 1968 Lennon had a marijuana conviction in Britain, which nearly lead him to being kicked out of the states in 1971 with his wife Yoko. John’s place in the band helped him rise to worldwide fame and kicked off his career. John was invited by McCartney to join his music group. Paul McCartney a second band member of the band was born on the 18th of June in 1942 and is aged 72. Paul and John both had a songwriting partnership with each other. George Harrison was the third remember of the band . George was born on the 25th of February 1943 and passed away on the 29th of November 2001 he was aged 58. Even though john and Paul were the main songwriters of the band George still contributed in many of the songs the band produced. Ringo Starr was the fourth member of The Beatles, his birth name is Richard Starkey. Ringo was born on the 7th of July in 1940 and is aged 74. When The Beatles
